What is B Corp Certification?

How Do You Get B Corp Certification?
To gain B Corp certification, you need to score 80 points and undergo rigorous vetting system that measures your social and environmental commitment and impact. With our first B impact assessment, Tiny Miracles scored 81.6 points. We still have a long way to go in improving our operational and environmental scores, but this is certainly a good start. Our B Corp Journey
When Tiny Miracles started as a foundation in 2010, we didn’t have any long-term plans or business models to guide us. We were simply driven by making real impact and enabling people to break their own poverty cycles. After many years of analyzing the root causes of poverty and working closely with the communities living in the slums of Mumbai, we eventually developed a method to enable people to get out and stay out of poverty within 8-10 years.
After a lot of trial-and-error, we learned that empowering people as truly independent and self-supporting has many layers. Social awareness, education, healthcare, practical skills, and celebration of life are all areas we tackle to help people get themselves out of poverty. However, to keep themselves out of poverty, people also need stable and well-paying jobs. The need to drive employment within these communities is how we decided to set up Tiny Miracles as a social enterprise. Today, Tiny Miracles works on impactful business initiatives and brand partnerships to create life-changing job opportunities for the people we work with.
Our Mission
More than ever, we’re committed to use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy, where systemic poverty no longer exists. Our B Corp certification is a great milestone and starting point for achieving this vision, but it’s certainly not the finish line.
Tiny Miracles stems from a deep-rooted belief that our generation must and has the power to achieve United Nations’ first Sustainable Develop Goal (SDG): “to end poverty in all its forms by 2030, ensure social protection for the poor and vulnerable, and to increase access to basic services”.
Our mission is to enable one million people to get out and stay out of poverty by 2030, and inspire others to join us!
